Aromatherapy is the practice of using essential oils for healing. Common aromatherapeutic use of essential oils is massaging into the skin. This method allows the plant chemical compounds present in the oil to pass into the bloodstream.

To relax your body and soothe sore muscles oils like lavender, frankincense, lemon, peppermint and tea tree oil should be used.

Some essential oils can cause symptoms and side effects such as agitation, hallucinations and seizures.

Essential oils should be stored out of direct sunlight, heat sources and easily damaged surfaces should be avoided, some may need to be stored in refrigerators.
